Creative briefing with ChatGPT

Discover my secret 4 step system

Welcome back peeps đź‘‹

Stop whatever you’re doing.

I’m about to reveal my biggest secret yet.

Ad Secret #4: The ChatGPT Briefing System

I know, ChatGPT content… how original.

But what I’m about to share is a lot more than a selection of prompts.

I’m about to reveal the proven system that has saved me over 100 hours of ideating & briefing.

I’ll even show you how I used it to create target personas, angles & briefs for Curology.

Let’s get in to it.

The Process

Before I reveal the exact prompts I use,

You first need to understand the system.

There are 4 main stages to the process:

1) Feed ChatGPT as much info as possible on the product.

Here are some things you can include:

  • Product description

  • Features

  • Benefits

  • Testimonials

2) Prompt ChatGPT to identify target personas for the product.

Here are some things to consider for the description of each persona:

  • Demographics

  • Pain points

  • Needs

  • Desires

3) Prompt ChatGPT to make a list of angles for each persona.

I personally identify an angle as a specific reason someone would purchase the product. It could be one of the following reasons:

  • Core benefit

  • Pricing / affordability

  • Specific feature

  • Occasion / event

4) Prompt ChatGPT to make briefs for each angle.

This part of the process will depend on your briefing process, however, I recommend starting with proven frameworks.

I do this by using a specific structure of blocks as a guideline for the prompt. Here is an example of the blocks I would use:

  • Hook

  • Problem

  • Agitate

  • Product Intro

  • Social Proof

  • Product Demo

  • Outcome

  • CTA

The Prompts

Now, It’s time to show you the exact prompts I use for this system.

I have created a Google Doc with 2 main parts:

  1. Templates: The template for each prompt, you simply need to fill out the relevant parts.

  2. Example: The exact prompts & responses I got when I used this system for Curology.

(I am not affiliated with Curology, I just used them for the example)

Pretty insane right?

Here are some key points to remember when using these prompts:

• Give as much info as possible on the product (especially testimonials)
• Prompt ChatGPT to expand on the angles if necessary
• Use proven & tested frameworks to structure the briefs

Remember, these prompts can be tailored to your specific needs.

If you have a particular way of briefing creators, simply edit the prompts to reflect your way of briefing.

Bonus tip: Give ChatGPT examples of your best performing briefs - this will make the ChatGPT briefs more relevant AND more likely to perform well.

That’s all for this week folks,

I hope you enjoyed this weeks edition of Ad Secrets!
